DHCP Relay missing destination server field

M4300-8X8F and 52G-PoE+ stack. All on FW 12.0.2.10. I'm trying to enable a DHCP relay, but in the web interface there is nowhere to enter the DHCP server IP. The help for the relay (System>Services>DHCP Relay) says for the admin button, "When you select 'enable' DHCP requests will be forwarded to the IP address you entered in the 'Server Address' field."

There is no 'Server Address' field anywhere that I've found, and it doesn't appear after enabling the relay.

I'm assuming the 'Server Address' is equivalent to an ip helper-address, so I sent the following via CLI, which will hopefully work, but it would have been nice to see it in the web interface.

(M4300-8X8F) (Config)#ip helper enable

(M4300-8X8F) (Config)#ip helper-address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx dhcp

  • Hi Greg,

    Welcome to NETGEAR community!:smileyhappy:

The DHCP Relay has two scenario: L2 and L3.
I don't know which scenario you want to deploy.

Please check the software admin guide of page 604 from following link:

    Software Admin guide
It will help you to deploy DHCP Relay function for both L2 and L3 DHCP Relay scenario.
