GS108T SNTP Server Timing Out
Hi All,
I have recently just picked up a couple of GS108T's and have a GS110TP on order.
Im just setting up the SNTP Server but it continutes to time out, I have tried via IP and DNS lookup and still seem to time out, I have other devices on the network using the same IP and are updating fine, 2 routers and a couple of wireless HUB devices.
I've tried setting the time manually and then using the SNTP server but continues to timeout. I can simply set both manually but would like to use the SNTP feature as we are in a poor location and suffer from power outages on a regular basis (we do have UPS for our servers)
I'm thinking of running a local SNTP server just to get this working on one of our servers.

- Is the SNTP server on the same network, and if not, have you configured a default gateway on the switch?
- Hi, Thanks for the quick response. No, I'm trying external SNTP servers, by IP and DNS but they seem to timeout, IP and Gateway are set correctly (Ddraytek 2860)
- OK So I've tried various SNTP servers and seems that it just didn't like the ones I was using. I have tried other UK variants via IP and these are now working, even though the others I have been using fine on the routers etc. Strange! anyway, all good :)
