How to disable switch from sending LLDP multicast packets?
The M4300 switch keeps sending LLDP multicast packets every 15seconds even though LLDP has been disabled on all interfaces. Does anyone know how to stop those packets?
Thank you

Re: How to disable switch from sending LLDP multicast packets?
Hi,
You have to disable the LLDP Transmit on the ports where you don't want LLDP packets to be send out of.
"System" --> "LLDP" --> "Port Configuration" --> Set "Transmit" to disable on the desired ports. Done.
Cheers

Thank you. I have already done that, but the switch still sends LLDP multicast packet every 15s.

Re: How to disable switch from sending LLDP multicast packets?
Hi,
I confirmed this with Wireshark. The LLDP messages stop completely if LLDP Transmit is set to Disabled on the port.
How are you testing this? Are you the latest firmware?

The switch does have an older firmware (12.0.0.14). I will try with latest firmware.
Thank you

Re: How to disable switch from sending LLDP multicast packets?
Hi,
OK.
Also, make a test then afterwards.
1. Disable LLDP Transmit on port 1.
2. Plug a PC into switch on port 1.
3. Run Wireshark on the PC and filter by lldp packets. Do you see any? You should not.
Cheers
