M4300 10G Copper ports support 2.5G and 5G?

So.... I’m noticing that my M4300 8x8 doesn’t support 2.5G speed on its 10G ports?

Hi @KD6ICZ

Thank you for using the M4300 series!

You are correct, this M4300-8X8F switch doesn't offer 2.5G on its 10GBASE-T ports, as stated in the M4300 datasheet and all other collaterals, product page etc.

Please check, only the M4300-16X and the M4300-96X offer this capability (2.5G and 5G speeds on their 10GBASE-T ports)

I hope this helps,

Regards,

So from the data sheet you referenced to, none of the units that have SFP+ and copper 10G ports support 2.5 or 5G?

The M4300-96X will do it for you, with as many SFP+ ports you want, and as many 10GBASE-T copper port you want, up to the 96-port count max (combined). You can start as low as 8 SFP+ and 8 10GBASE-T Copper, in your case for instance.

You can configure your M4300-96X here: https://www.netgear.com/landings/M4300-96X-configurator/

Let us know how it goes!

Regards,

Got it! That unit appears to be out of my budget for my home network. But if I see a used one pop up on eBay I’ll see what I can do.
