What happens if you enter the admin credentials of the NAS?
I am thinking you have a permissions problem. There are two sets of permissions - network access and file permissions. Both need to be set up properly to allow access. One option is to look at these settings for a share on the internal drives, and match them on the two USB drives.

Match the permission settings in the NAS web ui ( https://nas-ip-address/admin ) - via the settings wheel for the shares on the shares page.
Reset the file permissions if you change them (using the control on the left of the screen). That will apply the changes to every file/folder in the share.
