Can we real-time sync 2 3200's or a 3200 and a 4200?
We currently have a ReadyNAS 3200, which is simply plugged into the network as used as File Storage. We are wanting to repurpose the ReadyNAS to become the primary storage for the messages for our email server. However, we own two buildings next to each other, which are connected directly via fiber. What I would like to do is either get another 3200 (or a 4200), and use the 3200/4200 as primary and have a 3200 in the other building as a real-time redundant. From a capacity/bandwidth standpoint, we currently have ~250 GB of email data in ~600,000 messages, with each message stored as a file.
We are currently accomplishing this using a "FTP" sync software in the email server which lets us clone from one drive to another, although by the time it does it, there is usually a 2-3 hour delay. I would even be ok with some delay, but I wanted to make sure this was an option with the ReadyNAS 3200/4200, and what should I be looking at/what would be the best way to set this up.
Thanks!

- the only supported two way sync is via the egnyte cloud product, but its not free.
there is a free trial if you install the addon, you can test it out and see if it works well with your particular situation.
if you only need one way sync, you could schedule rsync backups, this would likely be faster than ftp, but may have issues if files are inuse/modified during the backup
another alternative would be readynas replicate, which is sort of a cloud managed rsync + snapshots over readynas remote vpn. But replicate is not free either. - westcampAspirantThanks for the quick reply! I only need it to be one-way, so I should be okay on that front. Since we are dealing with email messages, I would only need read-only from the source, and the destination won't be changing except for the syncing process, so I think we should be ok with rsync. Can you schedule rsync to run continuously?
