Problems configuring email alerts with Microsoft outlook (Code: 47007020002)

Hi all,

I seem to be having a problem with setting up alerts on a RN316 (6.10.3) which has had a factory reset performed on it.

  1. So in Settings > Alert I click on the Sign in with Microsoft button.
  2. I then login into Microsoft account successfully
  3. A screen pops up saying "Cloud Storage requires the following permission... Please verify this is your NAS before proceeding."
  4. I click on the Agree button. (So obviously I have authenticated successfully.)
  5. A little wheel spins
  6. I get error:
Failed to request security token from server. Check your Internet connection, DNS Settings, or proxy settings.

Failed to request security token from server. Check your Internet connection, DNS Settings, or proxy settings.
Code: 47007020002

So obviously it's not an internet connection / DNS / proxy setting issue.

Any suggestions?

Can I configure this manually?

@Platypus69

Have you tried reconfiguring using a different browser or by clearing the browsing data first?

Thanks as always Sir.

Yes I did. Did not work. 😞

In the end I just manually configured the SMTP gateway stuff below that Microsoft/Google button.

So email alerts are working

@Platypus69

Thank you for the reply, so configuring it automatically via the Microsoft button fails but manually configuring it works? Am I right? But you are trying to use an outlook account right?

Have you also tried using a Google account?
