I cannot connect my ReadyNAS Duo v2 to my Chrome OS Pixel Slate.
Windows 11 no longer supports connection to the ReadyNAS (I can still see the contents via the RAIDar 4.3.8 app on Win 11 but can't enter Setup). I would like to connect the ReadyNAS shares to my Pixel Slate but it won't add the share. Has anyone found a way to do this?
Another approach is to install an old browser version - FireFox is convenient, because Mozilla maintains a complete archive of old Firefox versions. Version 94.0.2 works. If you do this, immediately reconfigure it to prevent it from auto-updating.
As a reminder, you don't need to use the setup button in RAIDar (which always launches the default browser). You can just browse to https://nas-ip-address/admin (using the actual NAS IP address of course).
There are some other options to maintain access to the web admin UI, but they do depend on which NAS you have.

It appears to be similar to the browser problem. Your very old ReadyNAS is limited to SMB 1 support. New products use SMB 3. As you likely know, Microsoft still lets you enable the SMB 1 client in Windows (in "turn windows features on or off". But I believe the Pixel Slate simply doesn't support SMB 1.
I don't know if the Pixel Slate supports NFS shares - if it does, then you could try enabling NFS sharing on the Duo. FTP or HTTP sharing might also be an option.

My ReadyNAS is in fact a Version 1 machine despite the plate on the back. I had no luck using Edge in IE mode, but I have been able to accesshttps://nas-ip-address/admin using the old version of Firefox and TLS 1.0. Having enabled SMB 1 support I can now map a network drive to the ReadyNAS shares using Win 11 File Explorer, so full access to the ReadyNAS is available in Win 11.
Many thanks for your very helpful reply (I remember your help from the old days of the Digital Entertainer Elite - I still have mine gathering dust). I'm now off to the Pixel Slate community in search of SMB 1 support (Firefox on Chrome OS has partial access to the ReadyNAS but no shares are showing up).

FWIW, the label on the back means it is "hardware revision 2 of the original Duo". Very confusing.
This does limit your options. You can just continue to use the old firefox. If you change a configuration file via the linux command line interface, you can also turn off the redirection to https when you access frontview. Then http://nas-ip-address/admin will work from any browser (but https will fail from the new ones).
Your device works with cloud file systems, like Google Drive, Box, or SMB. To connect to an SMB file share:
Laptop mode: In the corner of your screen, select the Launcher Launch icon and then Up arrow
Tablet mode: Go to the home screen. To get there, tap the Launcher Launch icon in the lower left corner of your screen.
Open Files
In the top right, select More Select Add new service and then SMB Shares. A window will open. Select Add File Share. Fill out your info. Select Add.

On older Chrome OS, this was an experimental feature, which could be enabled manually:
Navigate to chrome://flags/#native-smb in your browser and change the dropdown for “Native Smb Client” to “Enabled”. It’ll prompt you to restart Chrome — go ahead and do it. then it's the same Files App.
Going back in time even more, on older-older Chrome OS and Android there were some user space apps, too.
@StephenB In the early days of this feature, it was SMB 1.0 and some SMB 2.0 only. Today, it can't be difficult to give a try of one has such a device 8-)
Adding the share in 'Files' was where I started and I can confirm that the latest Chrome OS (103) will not recognize the ReadyNAS share which uses SMB v1. I also tried without success adding the share from 'Settings/Apps/Files/Network file shares' which has a similar dialog. In other Pixel/Google/Reddit searches I found several indications that Chrome OS does not support SMB v1, so I am pretty sure that is the issue.
My next attempt will be to access the shared folders via http in the old version of Firefox on Chrome OS. Failing that I will be looking for the cheapest way of replacing my old ReadNAS with an enclosure that will take the old HDDs.

http sharing in the Duo v1 will work with normal http (it doesn't require https). So this shouldn't require the old version of Firefox to run.
It does require http to be enabled as a sharing protocol for each share.
There should also be some FTP clients you could use on the chromebook.
Great. I used the old version of Firefox to enable HTTP/S on the ReadyNAS shares and I can now access them from Win 11 or Chrome OS using Chrome or Firefox. The interface is rudimentary (no thumbnails) but adequate for my needs.
