ReadyNAS Duo v1 - What likely contemporary HDDs?

I have a trusty Duo v1, which has been humming quietly along for almost six years now.

Had to replace a dead HDD last week - the first one for the Duo. Nevertheless, I am quite pleased with the longevity.

The dead disk is a 2TB Western Digital WD20EARS - one of the latest additions to the HCL when I bought the system.

I replaced it with a 2TB Seagate Barracuda LP (ST32000542AS), which I've had stored as a spare for exactly this occasion.

(It's also on the (no-longer updated) HCL.)

Popped dead-disk out, popped new disk in, resynch, and normality restored.

Challenge:

The other "old" disk in the Duo is also a WD20EARS.

It has exactly the same power-on count, power cycle count, writes and reads etc as the failed drive.

It is not unlikely, meybe even probable, that this will fail too, in some not too distant future.

Unfortunately, I have no further spare ST32000542AS's to swap in.

I can find no replacement disks available from contemporary computer stores that are on the HCL.

Question:

What contemporary 2TB drives are likely to work with the Duo v1?

WD has their reds, Seagate have the NAS drives... they all seem fairly compatible.

Are there any prominent reasons why a 2TB modern drive should not work with the Duo v1?

If so which (so that these can be avoided?)

WD20EFRX definitely work in the duo v1 - I'm using one in mine.  The 2 TB Seagate Ironwolf should work too.

The HCL is no longer kept up to date, so it isn't useful any more.

Excellent information!

I think I will order the WD20EFRX - it's avaiable at good prices currently.

Thanks for the quick response.
