ReadyShare to ReadyNAS

I own a R6220.  I want to go from ReadyShare to ReadyNAS.  What is the optimal way to attach a NAS server to the R6220?

Thank you.

There is only one way to attach it - which is via ethernet.  The "N" in NAS stands for "network".

ReadyCloud would be managed from the ReadyNAS, not the router.

      Hello briandconnolly,

I think ReadySHARE is the feature of Netgear routers to access a storage plugged in to USB port of the router which is not possible with ReadyNAS. Like what StephenB mentioned, NAS stands for Network Attached Storage. When you say network, it means Ethernet connection (and wireless if the server has wireless capability).

To access your NAS locally, you can use SMB/CIFS as the simplest way. See What file-sharing protocols are supported by ReadyNAS OS 6 storage system.

For accessing your NAS remotely, like when you are away from where the network the NAS is, ReadyCloud is what you will use.

If you are using a legacy ReadyNAS unit such as ReadyNAS Duo, NV+. Pro series and Ultra series, use ReadyNAS Remote.

      Welcome to the community!

      Regards,
