XR500 Readyshare W11 Home
Works perfectly on 2 W10 Pro laptops. Not so on 1 W11 Home, Sorry to say I don't remember if it ever worked on W11 machine or not. Years ago .. b4 W11, Gearhead gave me some instructions which has always fixed any problems I had (like readyshare not showing up in Explorer). Here are those instructions from my notes:
-------------------------------------------
Go to gpedit.msc
Under Group policy editor access the following :-
->Computer configuration\administrative templates\network\Lanman Workstation
->"Enable insecure guest logons"
#Go to services.msc
The following should to set to Automatic[Delayed Start]
->Function Discovery Provider Host
->Function Discovery Resource Publication
#Go to Programs and features
Under Turn on Windows Features
->SMB-1.0 File sharing support <<<<<<<<< There are 3 options nested. I always checked all 3
Restart then turn SMB off <<<<<<<<<< over time, these instructions stopped working unless I left SMB ON.
-----------------------------------------------
Works great W10. I can MAP the two hard drives attached to the router and everything. Love it.
W11 .... at least not as such. Unable to MAP on W11 but I can access the drives through clicking on This PC/Network locations/ReadyDLNA: XR500. I can access directly but don't find a way to MAP.
Any help is appreciated in advance.

"Does that mean that you want help in getting Readyshare to work in Windows 11?"
Yes.
SMB 1 (and options) is active. The only evident difference between you and me is the model of the router. Thank you for responding. W11 is configured just like the working W10 except for I can map drives on W10 machines and can't seem to on W11. - WacoJohnLuminary
Acer64 is another computer on the home networkl
Yes ,,,, shows up as media server as it always has. What is missing is the device READYSHARE under NETWORK in the left pane of Explorer ... as shown in the screenshot. Without that there, no mapping.
Clicking on the MEDIA SERVER will let me access the drives ... but not map to them. - WacoJohnLuminary
smb1 is ON.
EXPLORER
\\readyshare\ReadyML or \\readyshare\ReadyNR
Windows can't access \\ready ........ Error 0x80004005
SUGGESTION:Disconnect hard drives from router
Factory reset router (if I figure out how)Bring it back up and connect the drives.
Only problem is there is something in there that needed to be changed from factory but don't remember what it was. Whatever it was was easy to do.

\\192.168.1.1\ReadyML
instead and see if that works

What's a MAC?😆 I'm in the middle of restoring W11 keep everything. Back soon. Thanks for everything.

I see that MAC Share too. Never noticed it before. Far as I know, been there for years. Readyshare is serving 2 W10 Pro laptops what work fine. 1 W11 Home that doesn't.
I have completely done a good re-installation on W11 with no changes/improvements. I'm now at a loss. Really not that fond of W11.

Wondering if Win11 Home would be limiting vs Pro since Home doesn't have as many networking features and controls as Pro does.

Fairly easy to find out. Back that W11 up and install W10 on it. I vaguely recall W11 working shortly after I upgraded from W10 to W11 but I can't be sure.
I will do the backup then put 10 on it and see. It will take me a good while though. Thank you again. I'll be back here.- FURRYe38Guru - Experienced User
If I can get some time, I'll get my XR500 out of the box and see if I can check this. I have Win11 Pro 24H2 on my machines here.

Just wanted to be sure. Thank you for the details on your troubleshooting.
Glad you got it working. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.

Enjoy. 📡- WacoJohnLuminary
no problem backing up xr500 cfg. I have maintained one for years and will create a new one to be sure. Can't be too sure but I think Disk Cleanup and CCleaner had a lot to do with (suddenly) fixing the problem. All is well that ends well, and thank you so much for everythng.
