Ultra add a drive

Sorry if this has been asked many times before but I have been searching and found many over complicated answers, or at least they sound that way as all I want to do is add a second drive to my single drive ultra 2 to add storage. Call me crazy but I'm not interested in raid redundancy as we backup daily externally. So I just want more storage. All I can find is info saying add a drive and let it spend hours syncing - I don't want it to be a raid drive. Any help appreciated.

Ultra add a drive--Raid 0

Mike,
Insert 2nd disk. You have data backed up. Factory reset. Pick FlexRAID. You should see a drop down, and you
are picking RAID 0. Data is striped across 2 disks. If one disk fails, you lose data across both. You have one Volume striped across 2 disks.
I work in support. There is less info about RAID 0, as we prefer that customers do not use.

Regards, Marto

Ultra-Add a drive--Raid 0-- Manual link

There is some more detail in Ultra software manual.

See Flex RAID, page 46.

Re: Ultra add a drive

Hi Margo, thank you for your quick reply which was perfect. On a side note, its a shame that the data has to be removed and put back, feels a bit backward. Thank you for your help.
