Re: Hiding network
Uncheck the Enable SSID Broadcast setting.
FWIW, hiding the network is no longer considered worthwhile. In the old days, when hacking tools were scarce, hiding the SSID was considered an effective way to keep people away. But, hiding the network blocks only one type of Wi-Fi packet known as the beacon message. The SSID is embedded in all other Wi-Fi traffic. Nowadays, Wi-Fi analyzer tools are freely available that can extract the SSID from this traffic without any trouble. Therefore, hiding your network doesn't really offer any protection from the real hackers.
