N300 will only allow one computer to connect at a time (?)
Hello,
I have an old dsl line with a static IP address. I was using a mac time machine until it fried and just picked up my Netgear router (WNR2000-- N300 WiFi router) yesterday. After doing the manual set-up necessary because of my static IP sitch, it will only allow me to connect one computer at a time. In a multiple puter household this is obvs not acceptable. Anyone have any solutions? Please explain at a very remedial level. Thanks in advance.

What is the setting of IP address range on the LAN set up page? Yout set up should be
like 192.168.1.2 - 192.168.1.254 or leave it at default.

The IP begins with 208... Is that what you are referring to?

Range has beginning address and ending address. Every device needs an ip address handed out by DHCP. So what is the range?
You have one address, 208? That's it?

Re: N300 will only allow one computer to connect at a time (?)
Sorry to be clueless-- the tech from my isp told me when i set up my new router to swtich from DHCP to manual and to enter the IP, subnet mask, and a couple of DNS #'s. I'm confused by "range". Are you asking for my IP address? I was given those 4 sets of #'s, and when I enter them into any of my computers they work. I just can't connect to any other computer. Should I be switching back to DHCP after I enter them or something? My options appear tp be : Using DHCP / Using DHCP with manual address / Using BootP / & Manual.

Let us back up little bit. What kinda modem do you have? What is your network layout? One modem and one router or modem/router
combo and another router? Without knowing exactly what you got, I can help you. Who is your ISP? Sounds like they are allowing only
one connection, not allowing multiple users. Are you in U.S. or Canada?
