Re: Extending XR700 with MR60 & MS60
No. the XR700 isn't a mesh router.
You can use the MR60 system as an access point system but devices aren't going to seamless roam from the XR700 to the mr60 system.
You could add a mesh extender to the xr700. I'd recommend the triband extenders (ex7500,ex7700,ex8000 or the RBS40V as it has extender mode)

They won't both work as satellites.
You can put the mr60 in access point mode and then add the satellite.

Re: Extending XR700 with MR60 & MS60
yes you can wire the EX7700 into the xr with the ex7700 in access point modem. Problem will be that it won't function as mesh/onessid. That function only runs when its used as an extender.

Photos have to be approved by a moderator so can take several days.
You can click on "choose file" and attach it.
If you're only needing 1 extender, you could use a triband extender. They do work well.
Or you could use the MK system. It just wouldn't integrate with the XR700's wifi. You could either disable the wifi on the XR or you could use it as backup.

Re: Extending XR700 with MR60 & MS60
I would like 1 SSID but would need two extenders (?😞
Groundfloor: XR700 connected to the ISP and WiFi enabled
1st floor: ? connected to XR700 with ethernet and WiFi enabled
2nd floor: ? connected to XR700 with ethernet and WiFi enabled
Not uncommon right?
(Unfortunatly I thought I could achieve this setup using the MR60 and MK60 in e.g. bridge mode)

Re: Extending XR700 with MR60 & MS60
Its not uncommon. but you're caught in a catch22. You have a great router.
but its not a mesh router.
And mesh extenders don't function as mesh when ran in app mode.
and running 2 extenders in mesh mode can start (not always) to cause instabilities in the network.
So you're you're caught.
1.Try using extenders and see if it works.
2.Buy a MK 62 system and hope it covers and use 2 ssids (one for xr700, 1 for mk62)
3. Buy a MK63 system and have a router/satellite on each floor (in AP mode) with the Xr700 running in router mode. Get the benefits of its lower latencies and still have the options of using its wifi or disabling it.
4. Scrap the xr700, sell it to recoup money and just go with a full mesh system.
You're caught because you want 1 ssid. That limits you to using extenders with the xr700. But hardwired in they don't function as mesh. So you'd need to use them in extender mode. which can have stability/speed slow downs. But not always.
so do you gamble and try it?
Up to you to choose which route to go.
If you live near a store with a generous return policy, you could always try the extenders and see how they work in your home.
