XR500 does firmware update make your internet go offline

i had no internet today and i was wondering if it was because of a firmware update? i just powerered my router off and on and internet came back.

If there was an update it would have made you go offline briefly. There is no version beyond .56 but if you were lower than this and auto upgrade was enabled then it is possible it auto upgraded and kicked you off.

how come the logs don't let you go that far back like 12 hrs or so because i got hit offline, but i couldn't see if it was a ddos attack in my logs

They should go back about 24 hours but if you've rebooted or factory reset then they will be lost, did that occur?

Okay that will be why then, if you don't do that then the logs should be available for 24 hours at least.

how would i access the logs w/o rebooting because my internet wasn't working until i rebooted and i couldnt access the logs.

Try going to this address and accessing the logs from here: http://routerlogin.net/adv_index.htm

 

It's possible that DumaOS has crashed but the Netgear interface hasn't.
