XR500 randomly loses connection

Just noticed that my complimentary support expired a few days ago (I didn't expected to be only 2 months) - anyway, my XR500 randomly loses connection every so and then.

The solution is to unplug it from a wall socket, wait for a minute and plug it back in. It will work for a few days like a charm and then it will happen again. This seem to happen in the evening (no settings seems to cause that).

I can access routerlogin.net but I cannot access my modem on 192.168.0.1 when this occurs. I've tried connecting to the internet via ethernet cable and internet works. So it is something between router and the modem (switched the cable with another one, same thing).

When I switched the cable with another one, WIFI internet briefly started to work again, but after two or three minutes it lost all connection again.

These are stats of my XR500:

Firmware Version V2.3.2.56

DumaOS Name A7Legit

Modem does not regain the connectivity unless unplugged and plugged in again (I have left modem once up and runninig after it lost connection in the evening through the whole night and there was no internet in the morning).

I bought this router 2 or so months back. I would like to hear some advice :s

While everything else works, this one is annoying yet because it happens exactly when it shouldn't (when there's an action :( )

  • I am attaching log file as well. I am unsure when exactly internet dropped as I reset router a few times and it looks like log resets as well. That's the only bit I could extract from it.

As you say, it sounds like an issue between the modem and the router. I think you need to set a static/reserved IP for the XR500 on the modem. Do you know how to do this?

I've made XR500 modem ip and mac reserved on my ISP modem. Hopefully that fixes the issue :)

For the question above about ISP modem:

        Manufacturer Sky
        Model SR102
        Firmware Version 2.92.2508.R
        DSL Firmware Version A2pv6F039m1.d24m

What is the Mfr and model# of the ISP modem the NG router is connected too?
