XR700 not getting 1gig speeds after factory reset

So I did a factory reset (pushing in the pin in back), and went through the setup thing.  It did show the 1000 for both up and down.  I connnected multiple PC's (using cat7 or cat8 cables -multiple cables as well) to the modem and they all get around 950ish down/up.  When i connect using the router however-speeds are about half what they should be.

This is with the nighthawk xr700 btw, and the PC's are all built-but all are hardwired when trying to connect.

Also, the speedtest is from speedtest.net

Re: XR700 not getting 1gig speeds after factory reset

While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.

You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:

Nighthawk Pro Gaming Routers - NETGEAR Communities

Gaming routers have their own DumaOS operating system that is nothing like the one on Netgear's standard routers.

I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message.

In the meantime you could visit the support pages:

Support | NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.

Check for various troubleshooting tips.

You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.

I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.

Re: XR700 not getting 1gig speeds after factory reset

What is the model of the modem/router the XR is connected to? Are ALL devices connected to the XR? How did you disable QoS exactly?

The model of the modem is BGW 320-500. All devices are hardwired. We have a few wireless but dont give a **bleep** about them right now lol.

Re: XR700 not getting 1gig speeds after factory reset

Your modem already has a built in router and wifi. This would be a double NAT condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT
https://kb.netgear.com/30187/How-to-fix-issues-with-Double-NAT
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the NG router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the NG router gets from the modem. https://kb.netgear.com/25891/DMZ-on-NETGEAR-routers
https://kb.netgear.com/24086/How-do-I-set-up-a-default-DMZ-server-on-my-Nighthawk-router

Try option #2...

Please do the above, that will help and make sure no devices are connected to it - only to the XR. How did you disable QoS exactly?
