New NIGHTHAWK XR300 Not working while white lights are on and connected

I just opened my router and connected it to my modem. Everything was working fine. I connected to the installation assistant website as displayed in the guide. I finished the prompts on the website and was told it was finished. All of the whites on my router are white and i am connected to the network on my labtop. However when I try to use the internet I cannot connect to anything even though I am connected to the router. I know my modem is fine since I was just connected to my old router with it and it worked fine. I also tried connecting via ethernet and that didn't work either. Any ideas as to what might be wrong?

What happens when you try to connect. What are you trying to connect? Wifi? Ethernet?
There are many ways on which a device "cannot connect". They usually throw up some sort of error.
If you are talking about the XR300 this isn't the best place to get help.
You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:
Nighthawk Pro Gaming Routers - NETGEAR Communities
Gaming routers have their own DumaOS operating system that is nothing like the one on Netgear's standard routers.
In the meantime you could visit the support pages:
Support | NETGEAR
Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.
You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.
I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.

While the XR router is ON, Power OFF the ISP modem for 1 minute then back ON.

Re: New NIGHTHAWK XR300 Not working while white lights are on and connected
May have been a combination of the power cycle of the modem and reset that helped. I know with my XR450, it won't connect correctly unless I reboot the modem after the XR is online and connected, then the front internet LED turns WHITE and then it works.
Glad you got it working. Please mark your thread as solved so others will know. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.

Enjoy. 📡

Yup. That's a common mistake. People think they can just turn things on and off in any order that takes their fancy. They can also be impatient, failing to wait for things to settle down before moving on to the next step.
Another one is when someone replaces one bit of their network and fails to reset the old stuff so that it forgets settings inherited from other devices. This even applies to changing your Internet service, when you sign up for fast speeds, for example.
These things can show up if you take a systematic approach to diagnosing what is happening. Running the Windows troubleshooter for example, rather than just unplugging stuff at random.
