Disable the SSID Broadcast on the Nighthawk WiFi 6 Mesh Sys
Trying to disable the SSID Broadcast on my MR80 Mesh WiFI 6 sys. Attempts to use the IP 192.168.1.1 reports an unsecure site. Why would I enter password info there. Is there another way that would be secure.

It is a browser thing. 192.168.1.1 is a local http address on your network. Browsers throw up their hands in disgust when asked to visit sites that are not https. They fear security threats.
You don't say which browser you are using, but most have an option to ignore the warning. Do that and you can get into the MR80's graphical user interface (GUI).
The only people who can get at that address are already on your local network. As long as you have given the router a safe password, even the most mischievous member of your family won't be able to get into the GUI and wreak havoc.
Then again, I always wonder why anyone would want to disable the SSID broadcast. A truly determined hacker can find your wifi.
Or do you mean turn off the wifi completely?
Just another user with time on their hands.
