MR70 Satellite Dropping Connection

Hello,

I have a Satellite downstairs and it will drop connection like clockwork. It drops connection (light goes orange).

If I am on a video call or playing a video game, it will lose connection for about ~10 seconds then come back for about two seconds, lose connection for about ~10 seconds and then come back and work fine.

It will do this multiple times a day. I checked my logs and it is showing a "fraggle" attack but I am unsure what that is.

It is getting really annoying because it happens quite a bit during work calls and it's become a running joke that my internet has these issues. I am on a Fiber 1000/1000 connection and it has become such an issue that I have thought about returning this Mesh system and moving on to another one.

Thank you!

Re: MR70 Satellite Dropping Connection

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.

How many MS are deployed?
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and 📡 satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between MR and MS🛰️ to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.

Set an IP address reservation for the MS on the MRs web page?

Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router been performed since last update?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
Turn off and unplug modem.
Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update? A complete pull of the power adapters for a period of time after the factory reset then walk thru the setup wizard and setup from scratch with a wired PC and web browser. Recommend setting the default DHCP IP address pool range to the following after applying and a factory reset: 192.168.#.100 to 192.168.#.200.

Re: MR70 Satellite Dropping Connection

Firmware: V1.0.3.34

I am not sure about the modem, but it's a Connext Fiber modem (it's small like 4x4 inches). The modem has worked fine though. I had another Nighthawk router before I upgraded to the Mesh system and it never gave me issues. It is a CAT6 cable connection.

There are two MS (one upstairs and one downstairs. The Main router is on the main (middle) floor.

The house is about 2500 sq ft. It is more than 30 feet between all of the satellites.

There haven't been any IP reservations set up so far. This could be the issue, but when I attempted to do it in the past, it just added a consistent studder on the connection (when playing games and video calls). I am not sure if I did this one right though. I followed the links that have been posted here before and added the IPs through the LAN options on routerlogin.net.

Power restart has been done with the router, modem and computers.

I have not done a factory reset since last FW update, but this issue was happening before I updated the firmware a week or so ago.

Re: MR70 Satellite Dropping Connection

Does this happen on both MS or just one?

Maybe time for a full on factory reset and setup from scratch using a PC and web browser.
