MR80 Connecting more than 60 devices

I am trying to connect 120 devices to this router. I have had times where it would handle the load just fine and other times where it will not handle more than 60 at a time. The router is wired to a server locally and no Internet is used. The router is wired to the server and I am trying to connect 120 cell phones to the WiFi. We have done this before without issues, but now it will not let us get above 60 devices. I have plenty of IP addresses available and when I look at the connected devices in the router admin page, it shows 120 connected.

Is there a setting I might have missed?

If 60 devices is the max, what are my options?

Can I use a second router as an access point to increase the number of devices connected?

120 devices is pushing it. Its a little different if there is a bunch of low bandwidth IoT devices but 120 cell phones, are going to use a lot more bandwidth/resources.

It can help if you add a satellite (especially hardwired) since then it can take some of that burden but if you're just using the router, that 60ish is a bit more reasonable.

Usually when users are needing that many devices, its time to switch over to the business class equipment. Plus adding extra access points

The cell phones are only sending and receiving data via a web browser. I do not think bandwidth is the issue.

"sending and receiving data". That's exactly what bandwidth is. except bandwidth is the speed of transfer.

Yes I am connecting 60 successfully. When I go over that is when I have the issue.
