AC2600 Router

Hello,

I just purchased the AC2600 Wifi Router and I have an existing ISP WIFI/Modem that I wish to connect it to. I followed the steps in the set up app and it was unsuccessful. I have been at it for two days and seeking guidance.

Why?  Is there some actual problem which you are trying to solve?

> [...] the AC2600 Wifi Router [...]

"AC2600" is a speed, not a model number.  Look at the product label.

   Is that accurate?  Firmware version?

> [...] and I have an existing ISP WIFI/Modem [...]

Has it a maker and model number?

> [...] I followed the steps in the set up app [...]

For the benefit of the non-psychics here, _which_ "the steps" in
_which_ "the set up app"?

> [...] unsuccessful. [...]

Which kind of "unsuccessful"?  None of that is a useful problem
description.  It does not say what you did.  It does not say what
happened when you did it.  As usual, showing actual actions (commands)
with their actual results (error messages, LED indicators, ...) can be
more helpful than vague descriptions or interpretations.

First, I'd avoid any Netgear-supplied app, and stick with a
(reliable) web browser.

   One under-utilized resource: Visit http://netgear.com/support , put
in your model number, and look for Documentation.  Get the User Manual.
Read.  Look for "Set Up the Router as a WiFi Access Point".

Re: AC2600 Router

How are you trying to connect?

If you have a modem/router connected to Internet and it cannot be put into bridge mode the best way would be for the ac6200 be put into AP mode. AP = Access Point.

Re: AC2600 Router

I was able to hit the reset button in the back of the Nighthawk and it allowed the set up. Now I am in the actual Wifi networks. I changed the 2.4 SSID and the 5 SSID and passwords. I think I got it but im only seeing the 2.4 Network and did not have the option of picking the 5 network?

"seeing" _where_?  When you do what?  If you have some 2.4GHz-only
device, then it might not display a 5GHz radio (which it can't detect).

LED indicators on the router?  Which part of "useful problem
description", above, was unclear?
