Nighthawk X8 R8500 5Ghz-1 band stopped working

Hi Community!


I've owned the Nighthawk X8 for about 72 hours now and it's a fantastic router!

The signal stregnth is awesome and everything I was looking for to maximize connectivity in my home.


Unfortunately about 48 hours into ownership the 5 Ghz 1 band just stopped broadcasting altogether.

Kind of a bummer.

I've checked via the genie app, and via the web interface and the router is signaling that the SSID is active and broadcasting.

I've done a factory reset by pushing the Reset on the back for 30 seconds and regonfiguring the router.

I've toggled the SSID on, off, enabled band sharing, toggled that off - no dice. 5 Ghz 1 is just not working.

2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz 2 are working just fine. Great speed and signal stregnth. 1 looks dead.

None of my devices can see it and when I type in the SSID manually and enter the info, every device either says it can't find the network or it's failed to connect.


The LED lights are solid white.


I'm at a loss.

Any help is appreciated.

Testing Equipment (to see if 5gh 1 is broadcasting): 2 Windows based PCs, 1 Mac, iPad, 2 iPhones, some smart devices (TVs)
