Nighthawk r7800 Unable to acces login page

 

I upgraded my router from wndr3700 to the nighthawk r7800!!

Yay I was so happy!! BUT pff the darn thing is giving me ALOT of work.

 

My problem is that I'm unable to connect to the login page (LAN)

I have litteraly tried every thing and I can't get it to work.

The only thing that works is that I can access it through my phone (samsung galaxy s7 edge)

 

My specs:

 

i7 6700k 

Asus maximus viii hero

16 GB DDR4 

MSI GeForce GTX 1070 GAMING X 8G

500 GB Samsung EVO 850

2 TB Hard disk

 

- Windows 10

- Kaspersky Total Security

 

Alright here the things I've tried.

 

 

- Connected the router to the modem (WAN PORT)

- Connected the LAN cable to the first port  (First LAN port)

- Waited for all the LEDS to lit up as descriped in the manual

- Trying to connect to the login page of the router by entering www.routerlogin.net or 192.168.1.1 FAILED

- Opened CMD and did ipconfig and the gateway is indeed 192.168.1.1 even after ipconfg /release ipconfig /flushdns ipconfig /renew

- Cleared Browser Cache/History etc and tried again to connect through www.routerlogin.net or 192.168.1.1 FAILED

- Disabled Kaspersky Total Security and Disabled all firewalls after this still no success

- Reset / Hard Reset / Power Cycle with all these steps repeated still no success.

- Pinging the gateway 192.168.1.1 gets a response tho...

 

Next thing I tried was trying to connect to the router login page through my mobile phone ( samsung galaxy s7 edge)

Entering www,routerlogin.net in the browser and hey!! I can access everything now!! From here I can just do my thing and everything works!

But still I can't connect to the page through my PC (LAN) and it's so freaking annoying... I'm just wondering what can I do because I have ordered and received 2nd Nighthawk r7800 and the problem remains the same. I just wanna access it over LAN

 

Please do help otherwise I have to send back the routers and refund my money and get an other one. Hope not!? I love netgear routers.

Unfortunally bad experience at the moment.

  • After I setup through my mobile.. I can access internet without a problem. Only it wont let me connect to 192.168.1.1 (PC-LAN)

      Ok.  Are you able to ping 192.168.1.1?

       

      Does the PC have a static IP address or is it using DHCP?

  • Yes. I'm able to ping 192.168.1.1 without packet loss.
    PC is using an assigned ip address from DHCP.

    Everything seems in order my pc ip address is 192.168.1.2, subnetmask 255.255.255.0 and gateway 192.168.1.1

      Did you try more than one browser?  Which one(s) did you try?

  • Yes I did. There is no vpn nor proxy enabled.
    Tried Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer, Edge.
    No success.

    Never thought that would work!! But thanks you're a saviour! I didn't thought it would work because I disabled kaspersky completely! Even disabled all the mechanics hmmm. Seems kaspersky is running in the background even when you've disabled everything. With this exclusion made everything works fine. Thanks again!
