R6900 22.214.171.124 & 126.96.36.199 firmware update broke Mac OS X finder and Time Machine
Upgrading from 188.8.131.52 to 184.108.40.206 broke Apple AFP protocol which is the main protocol for Time Machine to do backups across network. I worked with a support engineer who investigated and confirmed the issue. According to him, it has been fixed and should be available in the next release and I just tried 220.127.116.11 and it is still not working. I have yet again to downgrade to 18.104.22.168. This is frustrathing, argh.

I know nothing about "220.127.116.11", but AFP support was apparently
dropped intentionally in "18.104.22.168".

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Downloads. (For older versions, under Firmware and Software
Downloads, look for "View Previous Versions".) Find the kit(s).
Download the kit(s) you want. Read the "Release Notes" file for
Note that the Release Notes for "R6900 Firmware Version 126.96.36.199" say:
o Supports NETGEAR Armor
o Removes the following features: iTunes Server, Downloader, Time
Machine, Kwilt, TiVo, and DLNA
Netgear seems adamant about dropping various features to make room
for its new money-making scheme, "NETGEAR Armor". I would not hold my
breath waiting for those features to be restored.
