R7000 5ghz Connection Gone
Had no 5Ghz Network this morning with R7000 while White Light for 5Ghz network was active. 2.4 was working fine. Had nothing but issues with this router for 2 years now. Did the factory reset with paperclip. Back with .88 firmware I even tried .42 still had issues with IPv6 with Comcast ISP. I'm not using Smart Connect and using separate SSID Names. Any advice would be appreciated.

Have you tried to push the wIfi on/off button on the top of the router? Also you may want to log into your router and try renaming the 5ghz network and see if it shows up. If that does not work you may need to contact support if the router is under warranty.

Re: R7000 5ghz Connection Gone
Any reason you're updating the firmware? I'm still using V1.0.9.42_10.2.44 without any issues - see no reason to update it.

Always thought it was correct to always have the latest firmware for security reasons.

Normally that would be true. BUT Netgear has forgotten how to build quality firmware. Some bugs in firmware are over a year old depending on router. The r7000 used to have really solid firmware back when I used one, several years ago now.
