R7000 Current Firmware
Received Netgear security email to update firmware. Using the mobile app, it says that there is no update needed.
According to the app, the current firmware version is 1.0.9.88_10.2.88 which is not listed on the website. I am curious since I have reboot the router nearly twice per month.
Can anyone help?

If you have the R7000, there is newer firmware. (you put r7000 in the title but r7000P in the signature).
you can get it here and manually install it.

I'd try that first, do a factory reset and clean install afterwards (Not from backup) for best results.

Excuse the "P". It was accidentally entered.

Do not use crappy apps for firmware updates, unless you want a bricked router
Ditto for WiFi
Use a wired connection to the router at http://192.168.1.1
You can get the latest frimware from: https://www.netgear.com/support/product/r7000.aspx
For the R7000P it's https://www.netgear.com/support/product/R7000P.aspx
You talk about the R7000 but have listed the R7000P in your model field. Which is it?

I'm not sure where the 'P' came from. I actually did exactly what you said (used my desktop) but I didn't have links-just searched until I found the update. I downloaded it, then uploaded it and the router supposedly rebooted, etc. However, after all that, I still have the same firmware version I had before. Do I have to be paying for support for updates to work?
