RAX200 download speed slow
I moved from an X10 router to a new RAX200. I have a 1150v modem.
When I had the X10, I got a speed of 935 mbps.
My ISP plan has a download speed of 1200 mbps.
After the setup to RAX200, I get 710 mbps 😞
My settings are:
Enabled AX
Enabled OFDMA in all bands
Disabled Smart Connect
Disabled 20/40 MHz coexistence
WPA2/PSK security in all bands
Disabled QoS
- No link aggregation from modem to router
Any thoughts on how to fix this? Thanks

Re: RAX200 download speed slow
How are you testing speeds?
What website and device?
Testing wired? Wireless?
Many site struggle with speeds >500mbps and will give unreliable results.

Re: RAX200 download speed slow
I tested with
- wired connection of my laptop to the router, with using Ookla speedtest and Xfinity speedtest
- using the Nighthawk app from my phone
I did the tests over 10 times at different times of the day.
Please note that the same sites had worked with my older X10 router

Re: RAX200 download speed slow
When you're plugged directly into the cm1150v, what speeds do you get currently?

Re: RAX200 download speed slow
What firmware version is on the RAX?
Did you try a factory reset? After the reset, test the speeds without changing any of the default settings and see what you get.

Re: RAX200 download speed slow
I did a factory reset of the modem and tested the speed on it. I get only 720 mbps. I see large variations in the speed in the modem when I check multiple times. I guess the issue is with the modem and not the router.

Re: RAX200 download speed slow
After many checks, I did a chat with Comcast. They told me
Upon checking I see that a noise filter is present for ingress/signal leakage, due to which you're experiencing this issue
Never heard this before.
They are sending a technician to fix this. It has nothing to do with Netgear.

Re: RAX200 download speed slow
The Comcast technician came and made changes to my system to no avail. I still get the same reduced speed 😞

Re: RAX200 download speed slow
what website are you testing on?
Did you try different servers? Some can't max out gigabit speeds

Re: RAX200 download speed slow
I tried 4 speed sites
- speedtest.net (with multiple servers)
- speedtest.xfinity.com
- speedtest.googlefiber.net
- speedof.me
I also tried the tests at different time of day on multiple days to prevent unusual cases.

Re: RAX200 download speed slow
Have you tried downgrading the firmware a verison, factory resetting and doing a clean install (not from backup).
Test it with its defaults and see how it does
