Remote access to home server with Nighthawk R7000
I am running a small home server with FreeNAS OS Version: FreeNAS-11.2-U5 on Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3550 CPU @ 3.30GHz (4 cores) with Memory: 8 GiB. I have upgraded my home router to a NETGEAR Nighthawk R700.
My server is up and running fine while I am working on it within my network. I can sign in with windows (using IP address) however I had a friend try to login remotely (via Web browser) without success. He can get to the sign in page but then gets the response that the user name/password is incorrect. I have setup port forwarding for http and ssh. I realize I am probably missing something very minor. Thanks in advance for any advice/help.

if you're running a server behind a router, you should probably set it in the DMZ. Messing with port forwarding may not always work, though normally it should. I don't know your setup enough
Switching: 2x NETGEAR 8-ports (GS108v4) / 1x NETGEAR 16-ports (JGS516v2)
