need compatible CentryLink modem router combo

I am somewhat of a novice. I want to replace my CenturyLink Modem/router combo with a very good combo, however it HAS to be compatible with CenturyLink DSL here in Southern Minneapolis suburbs. Would love it if someone would be able to help me out.

Don't know anything about CenturyLink DSL, but in my experience the ISP, in this case CenturyLink DSL, will have a list of approved modems should you want to replace theirs. Some do not allow 3rd party modems. They are particular, because it is their network you are connecting to and the modem has to be compatible. They do not want you knocking down their network with non approved device.

Why?  Is there some actual problem which you are trying to solve?

Not a very detailed description of that device.  Has it a maker and
model number?  Connected to what?  Configured how?

"very good" is not a very detailed list of requirements.  Why a
"combo", instead of a modem and a (separate) good router (which might
outlive your DSL service)?

Not a very detailed description of that service.  ADSL?  VDSL?
PPPoA?  PPPoE?  Speed?  Anything beyond "DSL"?

In my experience, Netgear DSL products have little to recommend them
these days.  My D7000[v1] freezes after about four to eight weeks (like
bad clockwork).  The newer D7000v2 has its own, different set of
problems.  (A forum or Web search should find some.)  The DM200 "modem"
might be tolerable, especially if its (primitive) router functionality
is disabled.

That has nothing to do with anything?

Hardly a comprehensive one.  Doesn't include mine, for example.

Not really.  They don't care, but won't help much if you use
unapproved equipment.  I've never heard of any DSL CPE "knocking down"
anything.  Having your own twisted pair makes it tough to break much
which isn't yours.  Cable(-TV) providers are more fussy, because
customers can share more of their stuff.

The people who know about DSL modems and modem/routers hang out here:

Does the A7000|Nighthawk AC1900 WiFi USB Adapter in your footer have anything to do with your quest? Or did you just pick the first thing that came to hand?

Just another user.
