Re: some websites not accessable

some websites not accessable

So recently the internet/phone company had a service outage in our area and after it was fixed we couldn't access a number of websites. Did all the troubleshooting steps, connected directly to the cable modem, and still couldn't access the websites. Now the cable company has it fixed and we can access them directly from the modem again, but not over our network that's running a Netgear Nighthawk R7000 router (there's also some Netgear gigabit switches).

I've tried:
- powering everything off for 1 minute
- router reboot
- connection status renew
- firmware update
- dns flush
- using Google DNS
- lowering MTU size

any help offered will be appricated

Re: some websites not accessable

Are you saying that there's no Internet access through the router?

Did you configure the router manually?

Are you getting WAN IP address from the router admin page?

Check this link to get back with the connection.

Re: some websites not accessable

I'm having the same issue as 'gtr.' Netgear Nighthawk R7000 accesses all other websites just fine. However will not access one specific website created by a small business colleague (IP When Netgear Nighhawk R7000 is removed (computer directly to modem) everything works fine. Here are some specifics:

- Mac-Mini 5,1 (OSX 10.11.5)

- Motorola SURFboard SB6121 DICSIS 3.0 Cable Modem (Up/Down SNR in optimum range)

- R7000 with Firmware V1.0.5.70_1.1.91

- Reset R7000 to factory settings (only set admin to activate)

- Powercycled 1) modem, 2) router, 3) computer (waiting until each finishes startup mode)

- Installed firmware V1.0.4.30 - no joy - reinstall firmwareV1.0.5.70_1.1.91

- I've spend hours and hours testing different router settings. Several times reset the R7000 to Factory settings, then test again.

By replacing Netgear Nighthawk R7000 with ASUS RT-N53, everything works fine. Including access to IP (I bought the RT-N53 to handle a group of printers, and don't really want to use it as my primary router).

To recap: Netgear (-) | No Router (+) | ASUS (+)

Any help is appreciated
