The last two words of your post were very telling. Do these various TV boxes and peripherals connect to the internet via Wi-Fi?
If yes, there is no reason your CAX80 should not perform as well or better than the C7800. However, the performance of a Wi-Fi connection is very dependent on the settings you have configured both inside router and inside the peripheral devices.
Start by comparing the settings you have in place for the C7800 with the settings on the CAX80. They are different devices from different generations, but the terminology should be very similar. Look at all of the settings, but in particular the DNS (domain name server), frequency band your peripheral is connecting to, Wi-Fi channel, channel width, and beam forming.
