Stopped working

It has stopped working. It constantly disconnects from devices and won’t reconnect

Re: Stopped working

You didn't give us much to go off.

What router do you have?

what firmware is on it?

What modem/gateway is it connected to?

What's failing in the process?

what were you trying to do thats failing?

Does this include both devices that are connected over WiFi and devices that are connected with an ethernet cable?

I suppose you have powered the router off and back on again.  Does the "ring light" at the top go through the typical sequence?

i.e. white fades in and out for almost a minute, then white turns on/off for another minute, then turns blue for about two minutes?

Well, darn.  When my Orbi router is powered on, it

  • Fades on and then fades off for about a full minute, then
  • Goes "on", then "off" no fading for about another minute, then
  • When it get connected to the internet, the ring turns blue for up to two minutes, then
  • The ring light goes off completely.

After yours powers on, does the Orbi WiFi network begin broadcasting? (i.e. devices see an available network with the SSID that was set in the Orbi?)

How much time did you put into customizing the Orbi configuration, such as:

  • Assigning IP addresses to specific devices using the LAN setup table
  • Entering names and device types for individual device on the Attached Devices table
  • Entering DNS servers to use instead of those specified by the ISP
  • Customizing the DHCP pool
  • Setting up DDNS or OpenVPN

If very little time was spent on such activities, then doing a Factory Reset will not result in much effort.

Re: Stopped working

It lists the Orbi as an option to connect to any device. But if you try to connect it then it will say it failed

Re: Stopped working

It seems to me that there is "nothing to lose" by doing a Factory Reset and configure from scratch.

(I would use the web interface to set it up if at all possible.  I find the 'app' cute, but basically useless.)
