ORBI SXK30 PRO WIFI 6 MINI as Access Point
Hi Everybody
I am looking for Wi-Fi 6 access points to my home office.
Access points should have VLANs, Wi-Fi 6 and WPA3, Very important thing is good roaming between access points.
It looks that probably Orbi SXK30 pro wifi6 mini could be a good choice.
However before I made final decision I would like to confirm some installation details.
I hope you can help me with that.
My home is wireded. I have installed RJ45 sockets in some certain places and these are connected to my Cisco router (1GB).
I am planning to connect devices in following way:
(each Orbi SXK30 device would be connected to the router separately)
SXR30 (mesh router)<--wired connection--> Cisco router <--WAN-->
SXS30 (mesh satellite)<--wired connection-->Cisco router <--WAN-->
I can't connect devices SXR30 in following way:
(there is not enough RJ45 sockets in place where SXR30 will be installed)
SXS30 <--wired connection-->SXR30<--wired connection-->Cisco router<--WAN-->
Can you guys advice if my idea of device connection make sense?
Will I have a full good roaming between access points as is expected in mesh?
Will Orbi satellite use wired connection to communicate with Cisco router or communication between Orbi satellite will goes via WI-FI to Orbi router and then to Cisco router?

What cisco router are you using?
Are you using it to expand your ethernet points or what is the point of it?
Are you using it in a router function or access point function?
Just trying to ascertain as the satellites need to connect (even through a switch) back to the primary router.
You did a decent job of laying out your system but its still a little confusing.

Hi plemans
Thank you for you answer. For more information please below see my answers on you questions. Please also see the picture showing the scheme of my network. I hope it will give you a picture what I have and what I am planning to do.
What cisco router are you using?
I have small router Cisco RV260 (without Wi-Fi)
Are you using it to expand your ethernet points or what is the point of it?
This router is a basic device in my network. It connect my network with ISP
Are you using it in a router function or access point function?
I use cisco as router function (primary and only router installed in my network).

If you were wanting to do it and still use the cisco here's how I'd go.
isp---->Cisco router-----SXR30---->cheap unmanaged switch---->Devices/SXS30's.
You'd only connect the SXR30 to the cisco. that'd let you keep the VPN features of the cisco and still be able to use all the vlan/backhaul features of the netgear.
