AX6000 Orbi RBK853 unstable quality and not good performance
hi guys,
i have a RBK853 — Orbi WiFi 6 System AX6000 system on my home.. a RBR + 2 Satellite.
The configuration is pretty easy,
RBR is configured as WIFI Mode, it is connected via Gigabit LAN to the main router as DHCP Client and the backhoul to the satellite is done with a dedicated switch with 1G connections.
I have some troubles on perfermance..
If i connect for example my Lenovo thinpad via Gigabit directly to the RBR i can navigate at full performance.. so it mean that my cabled LAN on house is fully working and performance.
If i try to connect on Wifi via 5,2Gh on the same room where RBR is configured.. i can see connection up to 245Mb for example.. and if i ping my default gw i can see packet from 1.8.. to 20ms to 100ms and 200ms.. so damn unstable and not performance..

Another strange situation is on Wifi 2,4.. my old mobile phone seems not able to connect to the RBR but only over the satellite..
It seems that RBR is not sending signal on 2,4.. how this is possibile
I have the latest firmware available 4.6.7.13 on all devices..
The device are pretty clean and i did a factory reset just after the firmware upgrade.. and configuration is pretty standard as is .
Anyone can suggest me what to check ?

Re: AX6000 Orbi RBK853 unstable quality and not good performance
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
What is the Mfr and model# of the ethernet switch in the configuration?
What CAT# cable are you using thru out the home? CAT6 is recommended.
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and 📡 satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS📡 to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.
https://kb.netgear.com/31029/Where-should-I-place-my-Orbi-satellite 📡
What channels are you using? Auto? Try Auto and 48 on 5Ghz. Or try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?
Set CTS to 2347 under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings
Be sure any wifi adapter drivers are up to date.
Windows 10 or 11 on this pc?

Re: AX6000 Orbi RBK853 unstable quality and not good performance
Might try channel 1 and 40 as well.
Can you compare ping results with a different PC or laptop to compare results?
I would also turn OFF the RBS's and then run a PING test with the PC around 2-3 meters away from the RBR.
I would also bring the distances between the RBR and RBSs to say 10-15meters. 20meters maybe a bit too far.

Same result with other pcs

My pc is at 3 meters from the RBR 😞

Re: AX6000 Orbi RBK853 unstable quality and not good performance
Are drivers up to date for these adapters?
Have you changed the CTS values to 2347?
Is WMM enabled on the RBR?

Re: AX6000 Orbi RBK853 unstable quality and not good performance
So with the RBS turned OFF, lets factory reset the RBR. Press the reset button for 15 seconds then release. When you see the front LED pulsate WHITE, power off the RBR for 1 minute then back ON. Walk thru the setup wizard when you see the front LED pulsate WHITE. After the RBR is setup, check for SSID signals.

Re: AX6000 Orbi RBK853 unstable quality and not good performance
Ya seems bad. If this is seen across other devcies as well, I'm going to recommend that you contact NG support and ask for help and information regarding this. Ask about RMA options if available.
