Hi all, I recently picked up an Orbi RBK 752 AX4200 kit which has the RBR750 and RBS750. My ISP is AT&T Fiber with a 1 Gbps plan. After setting up the Orbi kit, maximum wifi speeds I can get is around 350 Mbps. This is over wifi 5 Ghz band to the main router (RBR750). I also get the same speeds with my PC which is hardwired into the satellite node (RBS750). When I do the speed test on the Orbi app (between main router and modem), I'm seeing around 600 Mbps down and 900 Mbps up. When I connect directly into the AT&T modem, I see around 800 Mbps down.
When I did the initial install, there was a firmware update which was installed. However in the process of troubleshooting my speeds, I've done a factory reset, enabled WMM, disabled security, etc. However speeds remain the same. Anything else I can try?
Pretty disappointed at the moment since my previous set-up with an Asus RT-86U was almost the same speeds but at 1/3rd the price. I'll continue to troubleshoot for a few days before I return this set-up.
Realize that the difference between your old Asus and the Orbi is it is a mesh wireless (broader coverage in your home) and AX (wifi 6, but only for such devices). Therefore if you use a wireless wifi 6 device, like an iPhone 11 Pro, then you should be seeing faster speed. In my experience even these devices see 600s or maybe 700s on my RBR850, but there is always other wireless communication overhead which will limit it to less than what you see with a wired connection.
Other non-wifi-6 wireless devices will not see much difference (though my non-wifi-6 laptop did see a little better speeds). If you're cost conscious then waiting until you have mostly wifi-6 devices before upgrading to AX is probably a better approach.
For best accuracy, make sure you're using something like the speedtest.net app or website to measure speeds and not the Orbi app or web portal measurement.
Yeah I wasn't expecting much of an improvement on my wifi 5 devices. But I do have two PCs equipped with Wifi 6 cards and another PC which is hardwired into the satellite node. Speeds are still disappointing right now...

We can focus on this issue first (before worrying about why your wireless clients are also seeing slower speeds). Is your Pace 5268AC in bridge mode, i.e., the WAN IP address shown on orbilogin.com is the same as seen at https://canyouseeme.org/? If not then you have Double NAT and putting your modem in bridge mode may increase wired speeds.
@FURRYe38 and @Mikey94025 the Pace AC5628 modem from AT&T doesn't have a bridge mode, but it is already set in DMZ plus mode which is like a passthrough. This can be verified by the Orbi router having the external WAN IP address.
As far as the wireless test speeds, those are from sitting right in front of the RBR (with my MacBook). So it should theoretically be the best connection I can get.
I will try to manually update to v32 and do a factory reset to see if that helps...
