Orbi rbr 850
I had a lightning strike that blew out my modem through the cable. I got an arris surfboard s33 and am trying to connect it with the orbi. I ended up doing a factory reset. The modem connects to the Wi-Fi, I get the solid white light in the orbi, but I can’t get past an error message saying the Ethernet cables aren’t connected. I tested the Ethernet cables with an Arlo base and they worked. Any suggestions on a step I’m missing? Hoping the Orbi wasn’t impacted by the lightning. Thanks

Re: Orbi rbr 850
May have been.
Swap LAN cables.
Be sure your using Good quality CAT6A STP cabling between the RBR and ISP Modem/ONT.
Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router been performed?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
Turn off and unplug modem.
Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.
IF all this fails to get the RBR working on the WAN port, the RBR could have been damaged here and would need replacing.
