Sort of out there question. …hope this is the right ‘location’ for this issue…
I purchased (sadly, sight unseen) a ‘Brand New Open Box 100% Complete’ RBK853 System for <$450.
100% complete it wasn’t.
The Router and two satellites are brand new and in their wrappers, etc., but that’s all that was in the box. No AC adapters (wall warts), no cabling, no documentation…
The seller says they don’t have any others, so I’m left with a couple of options: -Send the system back for refund (and then need to find another one doubtlessly at a higher cost) -Obtain the missing adapters, at a minimum, and pull down documentation from online and pick up any cables I might need to get the beastie up and running to upgrade/replace my current Orbi AX (RBR50 + sats) system.
So, any info on the right adapters I could get (model numbers, source, etc.)? Would my existing Orbi AC adapters work (amperage, wattage, connector)?
Think piecing together the accessories, documentation, etc., is a good idea given the cost delta is >$150?
To the best of my knowledge, since the HW is brand new in an open box, I should be able to register the system directly, so that’s not an issue.
Are the AC Adapters available as standalone replacements from Netgear? I'd like to get a price for them to use with the seller for reimbursement, however Netgear's site is abysmal for finding anything not in their standard menu list or after your tech support has expired...
It doesn't seem like it would be that hard to have an 'accessories' menu page for purchasing individual replacement parts, but I guess that's not a primary part of their business model...so...where can I find pricing, or am I stuck with hunting through kludge like eBay?
Have never seen power adapters on the Netgear site. Amazon sells generic adapters that name specific models of Orbi products. (p.s. I have used an RBR50 adapter on an RBR750 and it worked. Do not have an RBR850 to test. Have you tried this yet?)
