RBS850- Disable 2.4Ghz on ONLY a Satellite?
I have 2 RBS850 (Orbi WiFi 6 Satellite AX6000) satellites connected to an RBR850 router. The router and both satellites are broadcasting 2.4Ghz and 5 Ghz bands. One of my RBS850 satellites is close enough to interfere with a wireless speaker system that uses the 2.4Ghz band, but I need it in that specific location to connect to the other devices that rely on faster internet speeds provided by the 5Ghz signal.
Can I disable 2.4Ghz on just the one satellite? If not, are there any workarounds, such as forcing the 2.4Ghz devices to connect to a different satellite?
I do not want to disable 2.4Ghz for the whole system as I have devices that cannot connect to 5Ghz.
Below is my firmware- which I can confirm is the latest as of Jan 2, 2025
Router | RBR850 | V7.2.6.31 |

Re: RBS850- Disable 2.4Ghz on ONLY a Satellite?
No. All Orbi units broadcast on both 2.4G and 5G channels.
The most common recommendation would be to set the Orbi 2.4G channel as far away from that speaker 2.4G channel as possible. 2.4G WiFi is unfortunate in that the 11 channels available (in the US. 12 or 13 elsewhere) overlap so much. Generally, 5 channels apart is enough to avoid interference.
Channel 1 will not interfere with 6,7,8,9,10,11
Channel 2 will not interfere with 7,8,9,10,11
Channel 3 will not interfere with 8,9,10,11
Channel 4 will not interfere with 9,10,11
Channel 5 will not interfere with 10,11
Channel 6 will not interfere with 1 or 11
Channel 7 will not interfere with 1,2
Channel 8 will not interfere with 1,2,3
etc.

Use the separate IoT network for 2.4Ghz only support for devices that seen only 2.4Ghz connections.
