Guest network

I would like to create a guest wifi network on my RBR50.  When I go to sign into http://orbilogin.com it says the connection is not secure?

Re: Guest network

Just select continue or allow and add this site in the browser.
Try using a different browser, MS Edge, Firefox or Opera will do.

Re: Guest network

Can I do this in the Orbi app instead of the website?  When I enable the guest wifi in the app it will not let me crate a password

Re: Guest network

You'll need to use the web UI to get it setup.

Technically, the web browser is correct, but irrelevant.  http connections are not encrypted (never have been), which is the reason https was created.  When a web browser connects to a web site using http, anyone who has access to the data going between web browser and web server can examine it.  This is irrelevant because the connection between web browser and web server is entirely within the Orbi LAN.  There is a link, often in tiny print, somewhere on the page which allows the user to tell the web browser, "I know that. Go there anyway and stop telling me about this."

p.s. The Orbi also supports an https version of the web interface, which does encrypt the communication between web browser and Orbi web site.  Web browsers complain about this as well because the SSL certificate is "self-signed".  Browsers want to connect only to web sites where the SSL certifiate is endorsed by one of the major internet SSL sites.  Once again, there is a link to say, "go there anyway."  Suppose that my company runs a web server at a specific IP address.  When I ask to open that web site, I know exactly where it is. (Like in this case, the Orbi is on my LAN.)  I did not get the link from some Google search.
