Orbi RBK 20: Network speed is getting slower after time

Hi Netgear community,

for almost 2 months we have an Orbi RBK 20 system in Use with one sattelite. The problem I am facing is, that after some time (will monitor it now to get more detailed info on that) network speed is getting really slow. As soon as I reset the system it runs smooth again.

I did already set the 2.4 and 5 Ghz Wlan to custom bands. Furthermore i did turn of the Wlan from our LTE modem. I also did activate Mu-Mimo for testing and deactivated daisy chaining as well.

Does someone have some tips for me? Further settings i can change in order to keep the desired bandwith?

One more question: What das beamforging exactly do? Really hard to find info on that. As soon as I activate it i am not able to acces our Loxone server anymore (from the Iphone/Ipad at least).

Best regards (and sorry for grammar mistakes, I am not a native speaker) from Austria,

Rainer

Re: Orbi RBK 20: Network speed is getting slower after time

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Is the Orbi system operating in Router or AP mode?

What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet is recommended in between RBR and RBS to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected. https://kb.netgear.com/000036466/How-far-should-I-place-my-Orbi-satellite-from-my-Orbi-router

What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

Try enabling Beamforming and MIMO(MIMO may or may not be needed) and WMM. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings

Try disabling the following and see:
Armor, Circle, Daisy Chain, Fast Roaming, IPv6 and Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Set Short preamble instead of Long preamble modes. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s).

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?
