Orbi setup: AC2200/RBK30 connecting to netgear modem CM500
Internet provider: Spectrum Xfinity cable
Cable modem: Netgear CM5OO
WiFi router: Netgear N600WND R3400
I just bought an ORBI AC2000/RBK30 and followed the orbi setup instructions. My iphone could not recognize the orbi device to complete the set up. This is what I did so far... Should I set up using my laptop hardwire to ORBI rather than thru my iphone ?
- disconnect my netgear wifi router from modem
- hook up orbi to my modem
- download orbi app from apple store
- turned on my wifi on the iphone
- got a message saying ORBI device not found.
Should I set up using my laptop hardwire to ORBI rather than thru my iphone ? Please help! Any advice is appreciated!

Use a wired PC and web broswer pointed to 192.168.1.1 and setup the using the RBRs web page.
Review the installation guide PDF as well.

Yes, using a computer connectee to the router's ethernet port and using the Orbi's web interface is the best way of setting things up.
How do I set up my Orbi router and satellite?
My preference in in red in Steps 10, 11 in the above link:
- Connect your computer or mobile device to the Orbi router or satellite with an Ethernet or WiFi connection.
Note: To connect with WiFi, find the preset WiFi network name (SSID) and password on the label on the Orbi router or satellite and connect to that network from your WiFi-enabled computer or mobile device. - Download the Orbi app or visit http://orbilogin.com to set up your Orbi WiFi network.
The Orbi router's ring LED turns off after the setup is complete.

Remove the R3400 router and use the Orbi router as your main host router.

To: Vajim,
Here is my response. . .
it looks like you have 2 routers in your system? Is that true?
- No, I do not have 2 routers, I am disconnecting the N600WND R3400 and connecting my ORBI to the modem.
Thanks,
