RBK50 - Wifi limited to 300mbps from RBR, but get full 480mbps on RBS?
When I connect my laptop to my RBS50 satelliite, I get my full 470-480mbps speeds from my ISP.
If I connect to the RBR50, I get 300mbps tops.
I am testing using a Macbook Pro and my iPhone. I've tried different channels, fully doing a hardware reset, and different firmware versions. I've even swapped the RBR and RBS in the same locatiion in AP mode, and the limiit remains on the RBR only. The wiif link on the Macbook shows 866mbps for both, but it seems like it's only usng half that when connected to the RBR. Wired speeds are fine, of course. Same behavior in router vs AP mode.
Is anyone getting more than 300mbps over wifii fronthaul on the RBR50 or is this "normal"?

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.

What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?
Try enabling Beamforming and MIMO(MIMO may or may not be needed) and WMM. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings
Try disabling the following and see:
Armor, Circle, Daisy Chain, Fast Roaming, IPv6 and Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Set Short preamble instead of Long preamble modes. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s).

The 866Mbps is the theoretical maximum for that type of connection. In real world, with the overhead of encryption and environmental effects, your wireless speeds will be much less. AC cannot get as high as AX and even AX devices connected to the Orbi AX system will see wireless speeds in the 600s+.

Re: RBK50 - Wifi limited to 300mbps from RBR, but get full 480mbps on RBS?
I understand that wifi doesn't go to the max theoretical speed.
However, as I stated, I've swapped the RBS and RBR at the same location. The RBS always gives full 470mbps speeds (even wth wireless backhaul through the RBR, across the house). No matter where I put the RBR, or how close I am to it, I never can achieve more than 300mbps wirelessly through the RBR's fronthaul, even though my laptop's link speed shows its maximum 866mbps rate.
It doesn't matteer what 5ghz channel I pick. I've tried different channels, and have also enabled/disabled MIMO and beamforming. No difference. It also doesn't matter if it's in AP mode or router mode.
Another interesting thing is that the RBR stops responding to pings while the downstream speed tests run. The RBS doesn't exhibit that behavior. I strongly suspect something is faulty in the device, but am wondering if others have seen anything like this.
