Just saw your suggested solution for the RBR50. Will this work for the RBR20?

Re: RBR20 Orbi 3 band Mesh connecting to a 2.4G Arlo Doorbell to separate band

Thanks for the reponse. I'm in Brisbane Australia and if you are not in Aus not sure if this will mean a lot to you. The original Modem with the Arlo Gen 2 working was a Telestra Smart Modem Gen 3 with Voice Backup: Model Number Cobra XH. The new modem only has Telestra 5G Modem 2 on the plate. It has its own Wi-fi Name, Wi-Fi and Login Password, IP Address, User Name, Rated Input, 8N (don't know what that is) and IMEI. Arlo states the Arlo gen 2 ONLY connects to 2.4 G not 5G.

I have since found out that my Epson printer is still working and connected to Orbi 2.4 G and is the only connected device to the 2.4 G on Orbi. I had a friend who is more tech savy than myself and he said it made connection with Orbi but only for a very brief time e.g seconds and then dropped out very quickly.

If you need more specific info let know and I'll get my IT mate to see if he can explain more.

If the new hotspot has its own wifi, it is its own router too. it causes a double nat and arlo's have historically had issues with double nats.

Options?

either put the hotspot in passthrough mode, or the orbi in access point mode (only choose one option).
