Setup for AC1900 Nighthawk DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem Router with Orbi

I have limited knowledge when it comes to wifi, I can setup a router/modem but when it comes to the details I am a rookie. I just ordered an Orbi for the house to try to fix poor wifi coverage. I currently have the AC1900 Nighthawk cable modem Router, that is providing both modem and wifi funtions, what will be the best setup when I install the Orbi. Do I just turn off the wifi function on the nighthawk or can it funtion as a WAP, if so does that WAP reduce the speed/coverage of the Orbi?

You can set the Orbi to Access Point mode. It wont reduce the speed and coverage of the Orbi.

Turn off WiFi on the Modem/Router and let the Orbi handle all the WiFi running in AP mode, while attached to your Modem/Router with a ethernet cable.  Modem Router will also still handle DHCP functions in this configuration.
