So I'm going to Slovakia this December for a month at my place there and was thinking of upgrading the router. Would the Orbi (RBK50) work? Or is there something I need to consider besides the outlet.

It would definitely work especially if used in AP mode, but there may be regulartions around wireless frequencies that are different. Though likely you are safe as US has pretty strict regulations more so than other countries.
