Orbi CBK40 having lots of problems with satellites
My landlord installed an Orbi mesh system for the house I live in, and it's been nothing but confusing problems ever since. I'm helping to fix it, but I do not know the credentials to get to the login page for the router. I'm just doing research so that when they get home from work tonight, I can go ahead and make the changes necessary.
I've noticed that when my computer was connected to a plug-in satellite, I cannot sync internet time, and it's 11.3 seconds behind on my computer, and 1.5 seconds ahead on my phone (according to time.is) Every single time. When it's wireless in the same room as the router, no time issues at all, everything works the way it should. This all only happens when I'm getting my WiFi via a satellite.
I can't connect to any VPNs either. The connection fails.
WiFi calling from AT&T also doesn't work when connected to a satellite. The connection never initiates, and when it tries to do the handoff from cellular to WiFi, it fails and the call drops.
If I ping 8.8.8.8 (Google's DNS) I get a response time in the 300ms range.
My Nintendo Switch is only able to get NAT type F. When I'm wirelessly connected to the router, then I get NAT type either A or B. I am unable to play any games online at all.
It seems like all the problems stem from being connected to a satellite, rather than the router itself.
Ideas?
Note: I am using the Orbi cable modem with this setup, all Orbi equipment. I have Xfinity for internet but I am not using their gateway.

Re: Orbi CBK40 having lots of problems with satellites
Things we'll need feedback on:
What Firmware version is currently loaded? What on CBR and RBS.
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too? What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected. What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

Try enabling Beamforming and MIMO(MIMO may or may not be needed) and WMM. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings
Try disabling the following and see:
Armor, Circle, Daisy Chain, Fast Roaming, IPv6 and Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Set Short preamble instead of Long preamble modes. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s).

Re: Orbi CBK40 having lots of problems with satellites
All the device's firmware is up to date. This isn't a speed issue. This is a latency and connectivity issue,
