Can an Orbi Pro satellite connect to another satellite?

Can an Orbi Pro satellite connect to another satellite?

Good evening. I want to be able to further extend my wifi network by connecting the second satellite to the first one, as is depicted in some images in the literature (https://blog.netgear.com/blog/tips-for-building-a-powerful-diy-home-office-network/). I had a Linksys product that could use satellites as parent nodes. Any advice?

What Orbi satellites do you have?

Your system can have up to 6 satellites, so you can add to the system for greater coverage.

Okay, if I add another satellite, how do I use an existing satellite for a parent node? Where I need the new satellite to go is beyond the limit for a good signal from my router.

You don't use the existing satellite for a parent node. You just daisy chain the new Satellite.

Once the new satellite is configured, move it to your location.

daisy-chain topology allows Orbi Pro satellites to connect to other satellites or to the router. This increases the reach of the system and is especially useful for cases where a long stretch of space needs WiFi coverage.

Thanks for the answer! Is there a way I can tell it to use the other satellite instead of the router? I'm getting a poor connection with it trying to go back to the router. The other satellite is about half the distance than the router is.

Thanks in advance.

This explains what daisy chain topology is. You may want to use it to achieve extending your WIFI.

However all traffic goes through the main router. Wifi speeds are determined by distance from router or satellite, placement of your devices, WIFI channel and interference. If you are experiencing slow WIFI speeds on your Orbi router, try changing channels.

Good Luck.
