ORBI RBK20 with Bell 1G Fiber in Canada
Hi,
I am using Orbi rbr20 with Bell Fiber 1000mb down and 750mb up in Canada. The modem provided by Bell is Home Hub 3000 (hh3000), it also has router funciton built-in. When I run speedtest (https://www.speedtest.net/) by connecting my PC directly to the modem (hh3000), I got 1000mb down and 750mb up. However, when I connect Orbi rbr20 to the modem and run the speedtest (same LAN cable and same port), I am only getting ~500mb down and 750up. I have tried different ports on the modem, switching the Orbi from Router to AP mode, disable the wifi functions on the hh3000. However, I can only get ~500mb down. Can anyone help me on this?
Regards,
Ben

Re: ORBI RBK20 with Bell 1G Fiber
What Firmware is currently loaded?
Modem Combo Units:
This would be a double NAT condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router. https://kb.netgear.com/31218/How-do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7LOcJ8GdDo&app=desktop
Try option #2...
I would contact NG support about this as well if you can't get speeds near 900Mbps on the RBR.

The latest firmware (2.3.5.26) is loaded.

There is no setting to config the modem to bridge mode.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
I already disable the wifi function on the modem. Already did the DMZ on the modem for my Orbi rbr20.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router. https://kb.netgear.com/31218/How-do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7LOcJ8GdDo&app=desktop
The wifi functionality has been disable on the modem.

Re: ORBI RBK20 with Bell 1G Fiber
What happens if you configure the RBR for AP mode and speed test with a wired PC connected to the RBR?

Re: ORBI RBK20 with Bell 1G Fiber
I would make contact with NG support to see if the 20 series supports 1Gb WAN to LAN speeds then...
